Lynn and I found it a pleasure to deal with Eric from 950 miles away, purchasing our ’90 GL1500 over the Internet from Asheville, North Carolina. What a great guy to work with. Thanks again for being so helpful, taking the time to show us all of the controls, and working with us as we found our way having all of the money for the purchase. It’s great to find the exact bike you want, and having the person selling it is so honest and helpful to work with. Besides all this it was fun driving across country to trailer it back home to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Eric, please let us know when you are riding in the area. |

My thoughts about Eric are from a different view point. I found the Lord Jesus five years ago at the age of fifty-five. Since then I have pastored a small biker church in Lindale Texas. The first time I was in Eric's shop I was treated as a customer in a manner of which I had rarely ever been. I was made to feel as though I had been a friend of Eric's forever. Over the years I have mentioned things about ministry and have always received incouragement and a listening ear from Eric. I can drop in any time with something that needs fixing and 99% of the time it's done while I wait. He can find parts whenever I can't. I just want to convey that this man is a man who loves his family and his friends and I believe he goes out of his way to invite new customers into his circle of friends. When I deal with or just visit with Eric, I know that I am in the presence of a good Christian man. God Bless you Eric and your family. |

I was referred to Eric by a friend who said he had the best tire prices. Eric was fast and professional in mounting the rear Avon for my Valkyrie. I looked at the bikes he had for sale while I was there and ended up buying the Magna this week. Eric was very good to deal with while we negotiated the sale. Even though I am from the Dallas area (65 miles away) Eric treated me like I was from his home town from the very first time we spoke. I will not hesitate to do business with him in the future. Thanks Eric |

Eric has done service on two goldwings for me and I would not let anyone else touch my bike. My son recently purchased a 86 454 ltd which is just as good as Eric said it was. He has some great accessories and what he does not have he can get. I will continue to do business with Eric and would and have recommended him to friends, family or a stranger off the street. Thanks Eric |

Well today I rode about 200 Miles on my Intruder, It did great. The only thing I am having trouble with is my front brakes. I have had several look at them and they all say I need new front brakes put on. Can you give me some ideal what that would cost to get that taken care of. But the bike is doing so well and it fits me great for a short person. Thanks Eric for all your help. Thanks Linda Twyman |

Once again, it was a great pleasure doing business with Eric. I bought my Valkyrie October 2003 from Eric and that was such a pleasure I wouldn't go anywhere else to get my new front Avon Venom X tire. (Even though its 40 miles one way)I was in and out in under an hour, even though Eric had several customers coming and going that he had to take care of in between mounting the tire. It always a pleasure doing business with a pro and fellow rider. Thanks again Eric. |

I placed a request on a Delphi Forum for a passenger seat for a Valkyrie, and met Eric through a few helpful and pleasent emails. I found the linc to Howells Cycle through the GL1800.org web sight. When I contacted Mr. Howell about a price for the Corbin master saddle for the 1800 his was the best price I had found. I sold the 1800 and bought an Indian Vintage and needed a dual seat and called Mr. Howell and he hooked me up. Anyone can give a good price and lousey service. Mr Howell never failed to to what he has said and he can always be reached by phone. I would not hesitate doing business again, a real gentleman--rare in todays business market. Just picked up my 02 Goldwing from Eric's. Had him install the Rivco Illuminators, an accessory plug in the left faring pocket, a cup holder and fix the crummy Honda trunk latch. Quality workmanship as always. Previously had him install fog lights, chrome cowl and a Tulsa Belly pan as well as service the bike. Picked up a set of Frogg Toggs while I was there. Until next time, Thanks E-man. |

In a financial strait, I turned to my good friend, Eric, to see if he'd be interested in selling my beloved '01 1800 and matching trailer. This was like parting with a member of my family. But Eric treated me like a family member, like a bro., and went to work for me! The same day that I delivered it to him, he had 15 pictures of it on his personal website and had it posted on several sites, boards and classifieds, throughout the internet. Well, his effort, reputation and customer base returned immediate success. My beloved Wing and trailer were sold, with cash in hand, to a man of God, within 6 days! All I can say is Thank You Eric and Praise God for the blessing of knowing you. We'll ride again together, you, dad and me. Thanx again my friend! |

Eric: My 1998 Goldwing I bought from you is GREAT! Never bought something this expensive without seeing it. The bike was everything you said. Working with you on this sale and the accessories you provided was truly special. Your picture should be in the dictionary under "customer service". If all people and businesses were as genuinly nice and as honest as you, there would be no complaint departments. You treated me as a friend, more than just a customer. I rarely recommend businesses to anyone unless I am truly impressed. I would recommend you anytime. Thanks. |

We drove from Denver Co. to purchase a Suzuki DRZ from Eric that we had found on the internet. Realizing it was an 1800 mile round trip, we were concerned with what condition the bike truly was going to be in. We found it to be just as Eric decribed, in excellent condition, better then anything we had found here in Denver. Eric was honest, fair, pleasent, polite and friendly. We are still keeping in touch and doing business with him. We feel that if ANYbody at ANY distance needed to work with this man they would be completely satisfied. |

Eric has always been great at finding anything we've wanted. Our Bike has over two hundred thousand miles and Eric has kept it purring like a kitten. We have never been disappointed with anything we have purchased from him.I now know what is so great about Eric's shop ,not only can you get anything you might need for your Bike, but you get the feeling that you are important to him as a customer,he takes time to answer all your questions, and above all he is a good person, that makes you feel like a friend. |

Just had to write. Eric has been taking care of my 95 1500SE for 3 years now, and has ALWAYS given me the best service and prices I could ask for. He's the only man allowed to take care of my bike. It now has 204K miles on it, and still runs like a new bike. Yesterday, we bought a 2000 1500SE with trailer through Eric, and are so excited, can't wait to pick it up when he gets it ready. Eric is even going to sell my 95 for me, and I know it will be taken care of for me, really nice to be relieved of that pressure. With his site, and contacts, I have no doubt Eric will sell it soon and for my price. I HIGHLY recommend Eric for any parts, service, or to buy/sell a bike. You tired of getting the run-around at bike shops, and getting a customer service person that has no idea what they're talking about, just trying to sell you something, anything? Go to Howells Cycle, you will be pleased. Thanks for all you've done over the past 3 years, Eric, and look forward to many more years of business with you. |

Having completed the transaction, he went to pick up the bike , and felt confident that he knew all about the bike before he arrived. To his joy the bike was as we had discussed with nothing hidden and no problems with the transaction. I recently Purchased a '98 Valkyrie from Eric. I stumbled across an ad he had placed on the VRCC classified web page. While I've done buisness over the internet quite frequently, I was somewhat hesitant about the purchase of a bike sight unseen. My confidence started to grow when I found out he was selling the bike for a friend that had some mounting medical bills, and while willing to serve as an "agent" during the sale, I would purchase the bike directly from his friend. You have to feel comfortable with a man that will pass on his cut of the deal to help someone out. All my questions were answered promptly, with photos when necessary, and while there were comparable bikes available elsewhere, my buisness went to him inspite of the fact that I live 1200 miles from Van, Texas. Everything went exactly as planned, and I would rate myself as a Very satisfied customer. I would encourage anyone that has the opportunity to do buisness with Eric |

Eric went out of his way to contact the bike's owner to see if we could work out a deal. We did, and I picked the bike up directly from the owner and paid a fair price for a bike that is essentially new. I'm very happy! All of this was coordinated via email! I have not met Eric yet, but plan to when I am shopping for another bike. I had been looking for a used goldwing for about 2 months. Everything I read about seemed to far away to look at or seemed out of my price range. A friend of mine told me about Eric. He had just what I was looking for. Eric had more buyers than he had goldwings. However, since I was the first to contact him and place a deposit he kept his word and I got the bike. He could have sold it for more money but did not. He even detailed the bike. Eric is a personable sort of person and seems to be a friend to everyone he meets. If I ever go looking for another bike I will look at Eric's website first. Would be my first recommendation to any of my friends looking for a used bike. I was sad to find out due to diabetes that the doctor said it was time to stop riding to preserve my health, so I turned my bike over to Eric and he sold it really fast. A friend of mine in Tyler Tx told me that one of the few mechanics I trust to do good work at a fair price is Eric Howell in Van. I rode over and discussed some mechanical things I want to do with my bike and he gave me a quick, very fair estimate. I have ridden over several times and he treats me like one of his long time customers and I am sure we will be. It is hard to find motorcycle mechanics working on commission that will not find extra things wrong with one's bike, but Eric is not one of them. Van may be a little out of the way, but one can be sure, Eric is worth the trip and is an honest man. What I appreciate most about him, is that he always returns my calls or emails. Randy Y. |

I met Eric through a friend (and satisfied customer) several years ago, I had just acquired an older Gold Wing, and needed help in making sure it was as good as it looked. Eric treated me like I had been coming to his shop for years, just like a friend. Over the years he took care of the Wing, making my riding experience worry free. I recomend Eric to anybody that will listen, and if I was to describe him to a stranger, I would only need one word, "honest"!! I recently purchased another ride from him, and it is even better than he described, many thanks friend. |

We are new to the area and have been researching Goldwings for some time. We are looking forward to a long-term relationship with our "new" '98 SE and expect that Eric will be a big part of it. Thanks for helping make a big step for us seem so comfortable. We feel we came away with more than we paid for!!! |

Eric sold my Harley Davidson and to say I am pleased with his professional and friendly attitude is an understatement. Eric is such a good person to work with that I am recommending him to a neighbor that has attempted to sell a Sportster for many months via the Cycle Trader. I have no doubt that Eric will be successful if given the chance. |

My husband is Don Barker and had a motorcycle accident on October 2, 2004 2 miles south of Quinlan TX. It was a one vehicle accident, possibly a deer hit or ran out in front of Don, he doesn't remember too much, other than a brown blurr in front of him and remembered falling off the bike on the left side of his beloved '04 Gold Wing, Titanium in color which he and Eric Howell call the "Titan." Well, Don was care flighted to Parkland hospital and the trooper finished the report as a fatality, the road was marked off in yellow spray paint, which we found out later they do in a fatality. The E.R. doctor at Parkland Hospital here in Dallas said that Don would have died for sure if he had not been wearing his helmet...you should see the helmet! There would not be much left of Don's head if he hadn't had that on! Praise the Lord for that! I notified Eric on the e-mail that night of the accident and when my daughter and I went to the hospital to ICU the next day guess who was standing next to Don's bed? Eric Howell! He not only is a good Christian man, but a great friend as well. We are honored to be considered his friends and praise the Lord for his love and compassion, especially during this time. Then I got all the paper work done for the wrecker that carried Don's "Titan" away in Greenville TX and notorized what they asked for and faxed to them, and guess who went after the "Titan" to bring him to a familiar place? Eric went on his day off and got the Titan for us, took to his shop, and put it in his personal shed to take care of it for Don, until he gets on his feet and back on the "Titan" again to ride with Eric and Eric's dad. Eric went out of his way to help his customer and friend, Don Barker. We have told this story to many of Don's friends at church {Fellowship Baptist in Forney TX] who ride Wing's, Harley's, etc. about Eric's shop in Van TX. You don't find many cycle shops that will go out of their way for you, but Howell's Cycle Shop does, and goes a step further. What a true witness for his Lord, he shows the love of Christ, not only through his friendship, but his care and concern of any customer that walks into his shop. When you are in his shop, you feel like part of his family. "Dear Lord, continue to bless Eric Howell and his business abundantly! He exhibits your love to all that he encounters. Continue to pour your blessings on this man." Immediately when Don was released from the hospital [11 days later] he didn't want to go home...he wanted to see the "Titan" at Eric's shop. Eric went over the "Titan" with a fine toothed comb and there was not a scratch on him, other than a left broken foot peg, and roll guards on each side had worn down "walking up" Hwy. 34 riderless, another 150 yards and then came to a stand still...still upright and leaned over on it's right guards, at a 45 degree angle. Honda needs to hear of this story, of what another great story about one of their great designed bikes, and how it followed Don's instructions, and didn't crash. Again, thanks, Eric, for your love, concern and display of a true friend in helping your brother, Don, out in a time of crisis. God Bless! |

I met Eric about 4 years ago when I was needing new tires for my Gold Wing. I took off early one Saturday morning for the two hour drive to Van. Eric was there opened and waiting at 9 am just like he promised, put two tires on my bike, and was finished in about an hour. He was so nice and friendly, answered all the questions I could come up with about my bike, and was extremely fair on the price. Since then I won't let anyone else touch my bike. I am an Arctic Cat ATV and McCormick Tractor dealer in Lufkin, but my mechanic doesn't get to work on the Goldwing. I just rode my bike back this week for 2 new tires. While he was at it he bled the brakes and adjusted the idle for me for a little of nothing. Two Hours away, HA! That's nothing for great service, a great visit, and a great guy. I've only been in business for a year now, and Eric gives a good example for my guys and I to "try" to follow. I recommend Eric to anyone who needs anything in the motorcycle, atv and accessory field, and I even refer my own customers to him. He is simply the best guy I have dealt with in years in this Hustle, Bustle world we live in, and I'm also glad to call him my "Friend". Thanks, Eric. Last month, I had the oppertunity to deal with Eric, in the purchase of a 1995 Honda Pacific Coast 800. Having never made any type of large internet purchase in the past, nor having much first hand knowledge of the "rare" Honda Pacific Coast 800, I was dependant on Eric to work with me in determining first, whether or not the bike I was interested in was really the right bike for me and second, reassuring me that the bike he was selling was everything he was advertising. Well, here we are, a month later and I am the very happy owner of a clean, well running Pacific Coast 800... Eric had disclosed that the bike had some minor scratches and that the windshield had some hash marks; upon arrival, I found the scratches to be insignificant and had planned on replacing the windshield with a new aftermarket replacement before ever seeing the bike. My overall experience with this purchase was exceptional; I can only hope that future "sight-unseen" purchases I make, will be similar to this experience. Thanks Eric... If I ever get an opportunity to ride from San Diego to Texas, I'll be sure to look you up and take a look at your Goldwings. Your friend and satisfied customer, Bob |

Had a pretty serious accident on my '04 Titanium. Went down in Terrell on Hwy. 34. I think I was hit by a deer. It was just a blur. Was in the hospital for 13days and at first they thought I wouldn't make it. Well, my dear friend and "Bro," Eric Howell, AKA, the "Silver Bullet," was at my side in the hospital and doing all he could to help me and my family. Well, he went and picked up my "04 Titan," and took him home to Howell Cycle. There, he handled all the insurance adjustment and repair. Well, I'm back on my feet now and the Good Lord has me almost 100%. The Titan is in my garage and looks better then He did when I bought Him. Eric also saved me almost 40% in repairs from the adjustment and what a great time to have a savings like that, especially at Christmas. Thanx, Eric, I'm sorry these words don't really do what you did for the Barker Bunch justice. |

I just purchased a 2002 Honda VLX 600 on 2/19/05 from Eric Howell. I had been corresponding with Eric via email about this bike on his web site, I was so excited when I saw this bike I knew it was the one I wanted but I had placed a bid on Ebay the day before on another bike and less than an hour before the bidding stopped someone had out bidded me (thank goodness) because after corresponding with Eric I knew what a great deal I was getting for the bike he sold me. He is an outstanding person and very friendly. My husband and I are very thankful to him for all his help and plan to be back to buy and visit with him. Thank you so much Eric! It was worth the drive and we will see you soon. |

I quite honestly don't recall how I came upon Eric's web site. That is not important- what is important is that because of him I now have a '97 Valkyrie between my legs that is THE BIKE I wanted. What he says, he does. He does what he says. He's a rare person - he is totally honest. And for those who are fortunate enough to live within riding distance he has one more big plus - Rick who works with Eric in the maintenance/repair shop. Drop-in & visit, telephone,or email these guys. You'll be better for it and your bike most certainly will! |

I started looking for bikes last October and found Eric's bike shop on the internet trying to find a Voyager but of course his was immaculate and in great shape and at that time I just couldnt afford it. I found one in Colorado on thrifty nickel for a great price and what I could afford and got what I paid for. It was a bike but not a Howell bike.
I then got some money from an estate sale and started looking around for a GL1500 and went to Eric's site and sure enough a gorgeous 90 GL1500 SE in great condition and so I drove on a 102 degree day on a friday and tried it out and a 1200 he also had. I had a 1200 for 5 years and put 130,000 miles on it.
When i got there the pics did not do it justice, gorgeous, well taken care of and when I drove it, felt like my first 84 Interstate I bought but alot better. I knew I wanted a 1500 and went to Eric's site first remembering the mint Voyager.
I wanted the rear speakers and Eric ordered them on Monday, got them in Tuesday after lunch and called me and told me it was ready. He had put to the front of the line to get it ready for me to buy. It doesn't get any better than Eric and Howell's Cycle.
Well the pearl color, the great condition sold me on the bike. I tried it on the 26th and I drove him home today.
Thanks Eric and for all you did. I will be back and I will tell everyone about his company. Feels like home when you buy from Eric.

Well my relationship with Howell's Cycle goes back for several years. I do not even remember who told me about Eric, but I sure am glad they did. Eric is a rare find in the mechanic feild. He is one person that you can trust to fix only what needs fixing and not take advantage of the problem. A couple of years ago I went down on my wing and when ask what to do with the bike, my wife Janice told our friends to take it to Eric. With me in the hospital she did not have time to worry about it and she knew that if they took it to Howell's Cycle she would not have to. Thanks again Eric!!!

I was in TX for two days and Eric was highly recommended for looking at my bike. He took the time to immediately investigate the problem and within the morning had the problem diagnosed and fixed. This problem would have left me stranded somewhere along the road. I returned to CA with absolutely no problems. I've been doing business with Eric since 1994 and have never gotten a bad deal. During one tire change on my wife's Softtail, Eric's mechanic let a wrench slip and it scratched heat-shield on the inside of the muffler so slightly it wouldn't be noticed unless you looked really hard. He felt he had to show it to me and wanted to pay for a new heat-shield. Even after I refused to accept that, he wouldn't charge me for the labor on the tire change. His prices have always been good and his service exceptional. That's why I've been using him for 16 years on many different bikes. Thanks Eric for being a Christian businessman without the big Christian Signs out front. You don't have to say you're a Christian. You act it. |
